The story

About Us

We are a vibrant team of art and project management professionals from BCU's School of Art.  With 16 members hailing from diverse cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds, diversity is our strength and our differences empower us.

We gather at School of Art, the incubator of creativity, where we embrace the charm of contemporary art through perception, exploration, and creation.  We firmly believe that it is through the integration of various perspectives and thinking styles that we can soar "Up to the highest height, dance on the breeze, like a bird in flight."

WHAT ARE WE DOING

Let's fly a kite, is creating an environmentally friendly and sustainable kite aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainable development. This kite will be made from recyclable and biodegradable paper materials to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable resource utilization.

OUR AIMS

Our project offers a dual purpose: firstly, it presents an engaging and innovative approach to raising awareness about environmental issues. Our kite not only provides recreational enjoyment but also serves as a powerful visual statement for environmental advocacy. Secondly, through the creation and flight of this eco-friendly kite, we aim to emphasize the significance of sustainable living and inspire action for environmental preservation. Additionally, we strive to foster a sense of community among university students from diverse backgrounds by promoting learning through making and celebrating cultural diversity. Our open-air event will serve as a platform to explore different cultures and their symbolism through art and creative expression. We extend our invitation to the Birmingham community and Birmingham City University, inviting everyone to embrace their inner child for a day and rediscover the joy of kite-flying together.
